Symphonic Rock Artist BELLA D to Make Her Rock Radio Debut this Sunday on Long Island's 94.3 The Shark (WWSK)

Symphonic rock songstress BELLA D has been rising up the ranks these last few months - no doubt due in part to her beautiful operatic vocals, the intricately-written rock anthems on her new album The Crystal Ceiling and her truly inspiring story of kicking breast cancer to the curb.

This Sunday, April 17, the New Jersey-based vocalist will make her rock radio debut with her track "Invincible". The track will air on Long Island, NY's 94.3 The Shark (WWSK) via Rob Rush's evening program, which runs from 7-9pm eastern time. Not local? BELLA D's new album The Crystal Ceiling (out Friday, May 13, 2016) sees the emerging vocalist teaming with producer, drummer and cyborg DJ DRMAGDN (Charlie Zeleny, recognized for his work with Jordan Rudess, Blotted ScienceBehold the Arctopus and more), as well as session musicians known for working with multi-platinum artists such as (but not limited to) Taylor SwiftBlondieAvril LavigneBilly JoelBruce Springsteenand David Guetta. Impressively, not one of the musicians on the album aside from BELLA D and Zeleny recorded in the same room - this entire album is a true product of the future, utilizing the great power of the internet to craft it.

Needless to say, The Crystal Ceiling is chock full of unforgettable, top-notch rock tracks featuring superior production and unmatched musical execution - sure to impress even the most discerning of palates. You can pre-order The Crystal Ceiling and the first companion comic book here, and secure pre-sale tickets for her upcoming Carroll Place NYC CD release party on May 19th here.

BELLA D weaves gripping storytelling throughout The Crystal Ceiling, which fashions itself as a dystopian/steampunk-themed concept album. Inspired by Christie Oakes' (the real life BELLA D) love for video games, comics and the like, The Crystal Ceiling tells the autobiographical story of a female automaton whose main purpose for construction was companionship. Beautiful, smart and charming, BELLA D's will was too strong for captivity. After discovering a portal that transports her to a darkened futuristic New York City, BELLA D soon discovers that her new surroundings are entrenched in war, struggle, and violence. She finds refuge with a group of unusual people whose leader is kind but mysterious - he knows something he is not revealing. Amidst her new personal turmoil, New York City is under attack by a group of powerful adversaries who only go by the name "Shadow Walkers". BELLA D finds herself in the middle of a war with an unknown force while battling her own demons...

But know this - The Crystal Ceiling is more than just a concept album - it is born of real life inspiration. The theme of escape from terrible circumstances, surmounting impossible obstacles and overcoming tragedy as a victorious hero is not just a fairy-tale - it's Christie Oakes' life story. Midway through the album recording process, Oakes received the terrible news that she had BRCA positive aggressive Breast Cancer and needed to not only endure grueling high dose chemotherapy, but also have massive surgery to remove both breasts and her ovaries, similar to Angelina Jolie. Since then, her music has taken on a higher stakes/real life-and-death meaning.

Charging forward with rousing determination, 2016 is only the beginning for BELLA D. Stay tuned for more music, videos and beyond coming soon.
